Liability for Injuries

In Spain, if injuries result from a (road) accident, an indemnity may be collected from the person that has caused the same. In the case of injuries or wounds, professional advice should be sought immediately, because the Spanish statutes of limitations apply after one year.

In the Netherlands, for instance, the statutes of limitation for road accidents apply after three years under the Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Act, and after five years under the Civil Code.

We will discuss with you about the liability for the damages suffered and, when appropriate, make the person liable for them be held responsible. In many cases, the insurance company of the person causing the accident deals with the subsequent proceedings. If nobody acknowledges their responsibility, we may resort to the courts.
